One Person Can Make All The Difference

Sometimes I get disheartened and I think, "Am I really making a difference? Do I do a good enough job? When I was ministering to that person should I have said this…? I'm only one small person in a world that seems so big. What can I do?"
Then I read this one day and realised that God can use one little person to change the world.

"I looked for a man among them" Ezekiel 22:30

In 1858, a Boston Sunday School teacher named Kimball began visiting one of his students at the shoe store where he worked as a clerk. Eventually he led him to Christ. That student's name was D. L. Moody.

Twenty-one years later, Moody, now an evangelist, visited London and a great spiritual awakening took place. F. B. Meyer, a local pastor, went to hear Moody speak and his life was transformed. Later Meyer went to America to preach, and in one of his meetings a student named J. Wilbur Chapman turned to Christ. Chapman became active in the YMCA, where he met and discipled a former baseball player called Billy Sunday.

Sunday became a great revivalist and in one of his crusades in Charlotte, a group of businessmen came to Christ. A year later these men decided that their city needed another crusade, so they invited a man called Mordecai Hamm to be their speaker. After three weeks Hamm left town discouraged, because he'd only had one convert - a 12 year old boy called Billy Graham!

Billy Graham is now perhaps the most famous evangelist today - and one Sunday school teacher started it all!

One brother, Andrew, led another brother called Peter to Christ; and Peter brought multitudes.
One woman, whose name he still doesn't know, led David Yonggi Cho, pastor of the world's largest church (8,000,000 members) to Christ.
One person - just one - can make all the difference. You could be that one!

Most of the time we will never really know just how much affect we will have on a person. Don't feel disheartened or think you're too small or not equipped enough to make an effect. That's not true! Don't miss an opportunity to build up God's kingdom. Sometimes I think about the people in my life that have helped me to know Jesus better. They were everyday people like me. If they thought, "Oh I'm just one person, what could I do?" then who could say where I would be now? God calls all of us to share our faith - not just priests or pastors or nuns or brothers but every one of us.

"How then are they to call on Him if they have not come to believe in Him? And how can they believe in Him if they have never heard of Him? And how will they hear of Him unless there is a preacher for them? And how will there be preachers if they are not sent? As scripture says: 'How beautiful are the feet of the messenger of good news.'" ~ Romans 10:14-15
