A leaf doesn’t ask, “Does this colour I’m wearing go with the rest of the leaves?”, or “Am I where I’m meant to be?” Nor does it think, “I wish I was like her,” or “Who will catch me when I fall?” It doesn’t know and it doesn’t worry.
In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus tells us that even the lilies of the field depend on God. They grow in the love of our Father, oblivious to worldly care.
