As we have traveled our spiritual quest for enlightenment, the unquestioned climax lies in the week of discovery and sheer brilliance that we found in Bathurst
At the start of this year 20 young people from Brisbane had the opportunity to travel to Bathurst for 7 days of evangelization. For most of us this was to be the beginning of a wonderful relationship with God.
The stress of getting there was for a number of people enough to lower the expectations of the week. We battled two flat tires, a blown starter motor and got stranded in an outback town. The week began rather slowly, with each of us getting used to these new surroundings. However, with such an accepting atmosphere, by the second night we all felt at home.
It was just amazing to watch the twenty people from Brisbane each have their own special experience of God. And as we each did, we all grew more confident in ourselves and the masks that we hid behind were thrown away. The Holy Spirit worked in all of us in the most fantastic ways. As we each discovered the many gifts associated with the Spirit, we grew in our faith and learnt of God's incredible love for us. By the end of the week it is more than obvious that this love is reciprocated. Many of us have this constant urge to worship the Lord and have found a fulfillment through G.C.G.
As we both stand back and look at the group that went to Summer School, we can confidently say that each and every one of us have found the lord and thus changed radically. To put it into words is hard, but I think it has become evident that a new spring exists in the community's step.
